Crotone is one of the most important centre of Magna Grecia and was founded by the Greeks and well known as the Pitagora’s town, a famous mathematician. The sightseeing of Crotone starts with our tour guides from the National Archaeological Museum and goes on towards the Castle of Charles V which overlooking the historic centre with its narrow streets. Then we’ll arrive to Piazza Duomo (Cathedral Square) which is the dividing line between the old and the new area of the town. Here is the Cathedral dating from the 9th century which was built with material from the Temple of Hera Lacinia and it is situated beside the Bishop’s Palace. Then we enter to the modern part of the town, Piazza Pitagora (Pitagora Square), which is the most important meeting place for the people of the town.
