Morano Calabro, is a village about 1 hour far from Cosenza, a Sanseverino family feud and now a member of the Club “The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy“. It was also awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club such as excellent village of the hinterland. The sithseeing with our tour guides starts from the Church of St. Bernardino from Siena in the late Gothic style with its beautiful cloister. Then we continue to the Church of St. Maria Maddalena whose bell tower and dome are covered with characteristic maiolica: inside the church there is a famous polyptych made by Vivarini, an Italian artist of the 400s. Walking through the alleys of Morano we arrive to the Church of SS Pietro and Paolo which houses important Bernini’s works of art and paintings of other important authors. For who wants, it is possible to go up the top of the hill where there are the remains of the Norman-Swabian Castle. We suggest a visit to the Museum of the History of Agriculture and Herding which is inside the Palazzo Salmena to know more about traditions of these people.
