A trekking in South Italy on the mountains of Sila National Park, along the natural paths surrounded by breathtaking sceneries.
Day 1 Arrive in Calabria
Accommodation at the hotel which is a 1600 villa situated in Crosia, a little village in the north of Calabria on the Ionian coastside. Meeting with the guide and introduction of the itinerary. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 The “Greek Sila” – (Duration, 4 hours – Difficulty, moderate)
Breakfast. We take a walk from the salin flats and the Archaeological Park of Paludi in Vallimunti area (300 mt a.s.l.) to Coserie torrent (200 mt a.s.l.). Packed lunch. At the end of the trekking, sightseeing of the “Amarelli” Liquorice Museum at Rossano. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 3 “Greek Sila”– (Duration, 5 hours – Difficulty, moderate)
Breakfast. Transfert to the Ortiano torrent (300 mt a.s.l.) and visit of Petrone, a little abandoned village. We continue to Macchiafarna Mount ( 1000 mt a.s.l.), Leone hill (1500 mt a.s.l.) ending to Longobucco (741 mt a.s.l.), a characteristic village. Packed lunch. Sightseeing of Longobucco and their little typical wineries. Dinner in typical restaurant and overnight at the B&B in the historical centre of the village.
Day 4 “The Great Sila” – (Duration, 4 hours, Difficulty, easy)
Breakfast. The itinerary today cover the area called Fossiata (1200 mt a.s.l.) with a visit of the Arboreto Park, continuing to Cecita Lake (1130 mt a.s.l.) and the visitors centre of the Park. Packed lunch. A walk in Camigliatello Silano, a little touristic village. Return to Longobucco, dinner with musical entertainment and overnight.
Day 5 Departure
Breakfast and return home.
