It happens that the opportunities arrives for overcoming the difficulties. The arriving of the terrible Covid 19 pandemic took the whole world by surprise and created many problems in the life of everyday. In 2020 we forced to stay locked at home for long periods without any contact with other people. 

No more meeting with friends and relatives. No more happy evenings at restaurants, sightseeings, food and wine experiences and especially our own travels. But this isolation don’t belong to the human race who needs of social relations, who wants to discover and feel new emotions to express yourself.

For facing the social distancing imposed by the lockdown restrictions, the using of the digital world helped to regain the need to meet others. Then it started dinners among friends organized on digital platforms such as Zoom or Skype and virtual aperitifs for sharing moments of  conviviality. 

The lovers or food and wine are so many and they organize their holidays choosing gastronomic experiences as main focus. The deny to move has led to the widespread use of these activities dedicated to online tastings.

At first, the proposals of influencers and winebloggers with thematic insights related to the products and their territories with cooking classes, for example,  of local typical dishes, became popular on the web.

Then the manufacturers of food and wine noted the success of the online tastings and understood that these kind of experiences are a good opportunity for them to promote their business and increase their market. Many winery companies and typical product factories organized online meetings between people and manifacturers and the sommeliers by proposing suggestions of matching of food and wine, tastings, virtual guided visit of vineyards, wineries and the areas of production. 

And the Tour Operators and Travel Agencies specialized into food and wine tourism have taken advantage of this trend. During the lockdown period when any travel wasn’t allowed, many operators have taken this opportunity by reselling their way of approaching new potential tourists and maintaining a strong link with their customers.
