A holiday in Calabria with folklore, food and wine along the famous Cedars Riviera on the Tyrrenian Sea.

In the second weekend of September there is the yearly appointment with the Festival del Peperoncino (Hot Pepper Festival) in Diamante where you can enjoy several food and wine stands and dishes all spiced with the hot pepper, the guest star of the Festival. You find also stands of handicraft objects and can take part to events and musical performances.

During the stay, this tour dedicated to the lovers of hot cuisine, provide sightseeing of interesting villages and highlights around there.

Day by Day

A weekend in Calabria for the lovers of cuisine with visit of food and wine stands in the Hot Pepper Festival in Diamante. The probram includes sightseeings and a minicruise along the coast.

DAY 1 THURSDAY- Arrive in Calabria

Arrive in 4* hotel on the Cedar Riviera: dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 FRIDAY- Guided visit of the Cedar Museum and walk at the Hot Pepper Festival

Breakfast. sightseeing of the Cedar Museum at Santa Maria del Cedro with tasting of products made by this fruit. The afternoon is dedicated to the Red Hot Pepper Festival, along the promenade, with food & wine and handicraft stands, shows and music. Come back to the hotel: overnight.

DAY 3 SATURDAY - Minicruise around Dino Island or guided visit of the Sanctuary in Praia a Mare

Breakfast. mini cruise around the Dino Island in order to enjoy the cost and its wonderful caves (the Lion Cave, the Magno Arch and others). In case of bad condition of the sea, sightseeing of the Madonna of the Cave, a Sanctuary with three caves posed on a different level, each one with a natural large opening to the outside where enters air, light and sun in the afternoon. In the afternoon, enjoy the Festival in Diamante. In case of bad conditions of the sea or the weather, the minicruise is replaced by a sightseeing of the Santa Maria of the Cave Sanctuary in Praia a mare. Come back to the hotel and overnight.
