3 trekking itineraries in Sila National Park, in the central part of Calabria, each with different difficulty and with the company of our environmental guides.

The Sila National Park it's a great plateau where the wood alternate with wide plains full of a variety of flowers during the Spring, so the difficulty of doing trekking depends on mostly the lenght of the route. For this reason we choose the itinerary which is right for you, with different difficulty level: accessible to all people in good health, for who is physically active or suitable for who has a highly experience.

ROUTE 1 - Suitable for adults and children, intermediate difficulty level, duration of about 6 hours (stops included).

Trekking in the Sila Grande (Great Sila) along a nature path which starts from the woods of the Fossiata area and crosses a large field until the waters of a small lake, called lake of Macchialonga. From here you go up on Serra Ripollata where you can enjoy a splendid panorama that embraces Cecita lake and ranges up to the mountains of the Pollino National Park.

ROUTE 2 - ring route, duration of about 4 hours, suitable for adults and children

Trekking excursion in Sila Piccola (Little Sila) which starts from Tirivolo (near Catanzaro) and crosses paths through forests of beech trees to the Soleo River Valley: here you can enjoy of a wonderful panorama on the green of the mountains where this small river flows. The route starts and finishes at the same place.

ROUTE 3 - middle difficulty level, duration of 6 hours, for excursionists.

Trekking excursion in the Great Sila along a path with uphill and downhill. The route starts from an area near the rural village Cagno which is located in the municipality of San Giovanni in Fiore, and it crosses a path surrounded by pine beech forest, poplar and fir trees. Along the path, in May, you can see fields which offer colored flowers. Then you continue until the top of the Montenero (the Black Mount), the second highest mountain of the Sila National Park at 1,881 meters above sea level where you can enjoy a beautiful view towards Arvo Lake and the village of San Giovanni in Fiore.
